With the support of Trans Climbers Belong, USA Climbing has contracted with an all-trans facilitation team from Lyndon Cudlitz: Consulting, Education & Training to conduct virtual Listening Sessions. 

These Listening Sessions will assist in USA Climbing’s revision of the Transgender Athlete Participation Policy (released in October 2023 and paused in December), as well as help inform other ways to support the needs of Trans, Nonbinary, and Intersex (TNBI) individuals in the USAC community.

Thank you for your interest in participating in one of these Listening Session groups!

1. GROUP 1 - If you are a trans, nonbinary, and/or intersex person who is a climber (competitors preferred), comp routesetter, coach, judge, and/or USAC belayer, and at least 12 years old:

   APPLY HERE to participate in the 2-part Session. Monday, May 27 at 5:00-6:00p ET (2:00-3:00p PT) and Sunday, June 2 at 7:00-8:00p ET (4:00-5:00p PT).

2. GROUP 2 - If you are the family/guardian of TNBI climber(s) and/or a coach who currently or recently has had TNBI climber(s) on your team:

   APPLY HERE to participate in the Listening Session on Monday, May 27 at 7:00-8:00p ET (4:00-5:00p PT).

   If this describes you and you are also TNBI, you are encouraged to apply for this session, but welcome to apply for whichever feels most appropriate.

Confidentiality: The Facilitation Team will provide summaries of the Listening Sessions to USAC. However no names or identifying information will be shared with USAC or elsewhere. Participants must agree to these same strict confidentiality rules.

Details: After the Facilitation Team has reviewed applications, additional information will be sent to applicants who are invited to participate in the Listening Sessions (including guardian permission for minors’ participation).
