Trans Climbers Belong: Building Community Through Dismantling Anti-Trans Policy

  • Flash Foxy Trad Fest North Conway, NH (map)

Morning Program at the Flash Foxy Trad Festival, co-facilitated with Trans Climbers Belong

Trans Climbers Belong formed as a grassroots response to a new USA Climbing gender policy that restricted competition access to climbing for trans women and trans youth competitors. Two of the co-founders, Kristen Fiore and Lyndon Cudlitz, will share their strategies for talking about trans & intersex people in climbing and how they were able to mobilize climbers on a national scale to successfully overturn the policy, while securing spots for trans writers on the policy revision team. They will also discuss their experience as a team and how the group intentionally maintains and strengthens itself during a particularly difficult year for trans climbers.

Breakfast will be served before/during the workshop.
