Workshop at the Sex Down South conference.*

This year Ibis Reproductive Health, together with the Pride Study, launched a ground-breaking survey on the experiences of trans folks assigned female at birth and our ability to access adequate contraception information and care. The study received thousands of responses that illuminate the need for more nuanced discussion around transgender sexuality and body sovereignty - especially when it comes to pleasure and contraception. We’ll review results of the study, discuss our personal experiences within the medical-industrial complex, and provide a space for trans individuals to voice our visions for a world with healthcare and contraception access for all bodies. Two of the trans designers of the survey will share examples of how the lens of a trans advisory team can improve sexuality-related surveys initially designed by cisgender researchers.
